My journey to mastering PHP in one month – Tope Adeoye

I ( Tope Adeoye ) have a background in Computer Engineering Technology. Although I consider myself fairly experienced with C# and python, I wanted to strengthen my PHP skills. I set myself a goal of becoming a PHP pro within a month.

To start off, I dived into tutorials, blog posts and books authored by the masters of PHP. Simultaneously, I began strengthening my PHP basics. Soon, I found myself getting the hang of PHP using object oriented programming.

Within 5-7 days, I could easily handle intermediate level PHP programming, but I wanted to take things further. After I had a grasp of the basic syntax and a few PHP structures, I decided to start doing unique projects from scratch.

After I successfully completed a few PHP projects from the ground up, I began delving into advanced tricks and scripting. I never memorised any scripts – rather I focused on understanding the algorithms behind them.

In less than 3 weeks, I found that I could master any app idea using PHP frameworks. I combined my newfound knowledge with AJAX, jQuery and JavaScript to become a PHP pro. All this in less than a month’s time!
